St Elizabeth's is one of only two national centres providing holistic care, support, health and education services and medical support for those with epilepsy. The operating costs of this charity are £20m, the majority of which comes from fundraising.

My aunt Caroline developed severe Epilepsy as a young child, leading to permanent brain damage and learning difficulties. At 19 she became a permanent resident at St Elizabeth's and lived there until her death in 2015 at the age of 54.

Though there were many challenges facing Cara and the family, I am so grateful that I was able to know her for the first 25 years of my life. The care and love shown by the exceptionally committed staff of St Elizabeth's enabled Cara to have a long and happy life as well as providing much needed support to my grandparents.

My family feels deeply indebted to St Elizabeth's and I hope that by helping raise awareness we can ensure others are helped as excellently as we were.
