Story

Hi all,

Thank you for visiting this page :)

Mike and I have fostered rescue dogs for Dogs Trust over the last two years and so this really is a cause that is close to my heart.

The cost of living crisis means that there are sky-high costs for dog owners,  leaving many dog owners unable (understandably) to care for their dogs. Because of this, the Dogs Trust have had an unprecedented numbers of enquiries from desperate pet owners who feel they’ve run out of options.

With adoption numbers dropping because people can’t afford to take on a new dog, this is causing major issues for dog charities and owners.

Anyone that knows me knows that dogs are very close to my heart, and particularly rescue dogs. We have fostered six dogs for Dogs Trust, ending in us finally adopting our final foster dog… hopefully we can foster again in the future (if Erica accepts a foster sister or brother eek!) but in the meantime, I want to do something for Dogs Trust  as they  need every penny at the moment.

I only started running during covid and thought running a marathon would be easier than the training has indicated to date (very naive I know). With work and various other commitments, I am finding training so much harder than expected, so any pennies would really spur me on! Our  experience of helping Dogs Trust Merseyside has been fantastic and so rewarding -  I’d be so grateful if you could consider donating or even adopting a rescue dog in the future.

Love Alex xx
