With the daunting prospect of my 40th birthday looming ever closer I went through the options of what I wanted to do to mark the event, and for reasons still unclear to me, I decided to do something I've not done for pretty much all my adult life, step out that comfort zone and set myself a challenge, and better still, make some money for 2 good causes at the same time...
Therefore, on May 4th I am doing a firewalk.... yes, walking over coals that are over 500' heat :O The 2 charities I'm supporting are Hampshire Air Ambulance, and Hart Wildlife Rescue.
Hampshire Air Ambulance holds a special place in my heart after seeing the level of first line care given by one of their crew (albeit "landbound") to my Dad, who, despite their very best efforts, sadly passed away.
Hart Wildlife Rescue is a lovely local animal hospital who do an amazing job of looking after injured wildlife, and they are run entirely on donations.
Due to the setup of Just Giving, I have 2 separate pages for these challenges, so please donate to whichever cause you would prefer - or best still - both!!
To those that know me, this is a pretty big deal as I'm not known for stepping out of my comfort zone, so in addition to the personal challenge I am setting myself (eeek!) I would be very grateful for all the support I can get to support my causes....
thanks Ali xxx
