Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My good friends, Ricky and Claire Mills', Baby girl Isla Rose was born on 9th July 2015 at a midwife led birthing unit, as soon as she arrived, they were taken to their nearest hospital before being referred to Great Ormond Street Hospital where Isla was diagnosed with Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia.
CAH is such a rare condition that there is very little fund raising for research into better treatment for those affected.
We want to try and raise as much awareness and money as we possibly can to help other children and families like Isla Rose.
Your donation can really help.
The money we raise will go to fund research into developing a system for giving automated emergency injections of hydrocortisone.
Currently this is a very manual process involving measuring a specific amount of liquid, mixing this with powder and then measuring the correct dose into a syringe, this then needs to be administered intermuscularly. Every second counts when this injection is required and an automated injection would make an incredible difference.
