Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On October the 20th 2005, one of my closest and best friends Annabel lost her fight with cancer. For any of you that are reading this that werent lucky enough to have met her or know her, she was one of the happiest, funniest and kind friends you could ever wish for. Always ready and up for having a good time and laugh with her friends and she was always , always there for me. The picture Ive attached, is from happier times when we shared a flat and always makes me smile. Annabel is always in my thoughts and Im always telling my children about Auntie Annabel, so I feel like she is always with me and always will be.
As its 10 years this October since we lost her, Ive decided its about time I did something for her. Annabel loved running and would often compete in half Marathons. I used to laugh at her when we lived together and say you would never get me running anywhere! I think, therefore, that it is very fitting that I should do this challenge, as not only did Annabel love running, but she will also be laughing herself silly watching me try to complete this!
For most people 7k with some obstacles might not be much of a challenge, but for anyone who really knows me, knows that I dont do exercise and this will be a very difficult challenge for me to complete, I got a stitch running 5 minutes down the road in my first run! I will complete this though and when the training is tough and the course will be, I just think of Annabel and it makes me push on through.
I am raising my money for St Catherine's Hospice in Crawley. St Catherine’s Hospice is a charity dedicated to providing specialised end of life care and support to local people, their families, friends and carers all free of charge.
They critically rely on voluntary donations and legacies and their care is only made possible thanks to the generosity of supporters and volunteers. Each year they need to raise £5.5m in voluntary income to ensure they can continue to provide vital services to those who need them.
Annabels family will never forget how well they cared for Annabel and them during her last days and that is why I am raising as much money as I can for them.
Please help me to raise as much as possible to help St Catherines and in memory of my very special friend Annabel.
