I have decided to take part in The Great North Run to raise funds for a wonderful charity. I met Ryan s father just before taking part in the Coast to Coast. Ryan 's story was tragic and nothing any parent should go through. The charity, formed in his honour has funded and continues to fund research into Alpers Syndrome and other rare genetic  conditions.
