Story

Thank you for donating to my VSO fundraising page. I know first hand what a difference volunteers can have.  I was fortunate enough to volunteer in an English Language Teacher Training College in a remote province in Vietnam back in the 1990s.  The experience has never left me, and I am still in touch with my head of department from the college where I worked.  VSO works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. The volunteers' skills, knowledge and sheer enthusiasm make lasting and far reaching change in the world's poorest communities, as well as in the volunteers themselves.  I’m fundraising in support of all VSO funded projects, which benefit around 2 million people every year. By donating to my page you are not paying for just one placement, you are supporting all of VSO’s vital work, enabling them to continue to change the world through the power of volunteering.

About the charity

VSO is an international development organisation that brings people together to share skills, build capabilities, and change lives to make the world a fairer place for all. Everyday, VSO volunteers are working to empower people living in some of the world’s most marginalised communities.
