I am running for the Bournemouth half marathon  on the 10th October to raise funds for Hostage International. My motivation for doing the run is to raise awareness and funds for this small charity that provides support at the right level and the right time. Kidnapping is something that no one is prepared for and does not make sense when it happens to someone close to you.

My training has not been very consistent due to injuries and other commitments, however I am hoping to do the run between 2:22 and 2:04 the average time for a "young" lady of my age between intermediate and advance ability, not elite 1:53!

I hope that the funds for Hostage International will help them to continue doing the valuable work that nobody else does, supporting everyone affected by kidnapping. The outcome of kidnapping for the family could come to a "close" if the person returns or they know their fate, however sometimes the families will live with the uncertainty of what happened to their love ones and time does not heal, time helps you to learn new ways to live.
