Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page.
I am a firm believer that life is too short to have regrets, so during 2017-2018 we (Amanda and Anthony) will be taking part in numerous sporting events (which we never thought we would do) while raising money for Phab kids.
This time last year I (Amanda) didn't even have a bike and the idea of swimming in a lake.... well haha. As for running a marathon??? Here goes, I need all of the support I can get. If you can donate (every little helps) I would be very grateful.
Anthony has also decided to take on these crazy sporting events (not the marathon ... but maybe 2019?!)
The first of our events is on 12th August - Mud7 which is a 5 mile run with obstacles (getting muddy of course). - we have now completed this! It was hard, particularly with a recovering sprained ankle and shoulder problem... but WE DID IT!
Herts Triathlon in on 20th August - 750m open water swim around Stanborough lake, followed by 20km bike and 5 km run. - UPDATE - this was great ... I NEVER thought I could swim in a lake... but I did!! Another medal yay!
Nuclear Blast - 16th September as many 5km laps with obstacles and LOTS of MUD! UPDATE- oh yes, what a lot of mud!!!!
Stevenage Half marathon is on 22nd October (13.1 miles) .... woop woop! We did it! I was aiming for 2.20 (but thought it would be more likely 2.30) ... my actual time was 2.13 - very pleased with that! Anthony did it in 2.06 :)
Knebworth half marathon - 19th November 2017 (it's going to be chilly). It turns out being chilly was the least of my problems. Those hills!!! Omg! Anyway 2.18 was my official time and I kept running the whole way! I am pleased with that ... (and of course I love the medal) :)
.... now what race to book next???
Current future events... (more to come :)
Lake Dorney - 20miles eek!!! 25th March
London Marathon is 22nd April. 26.2 miles
Thank you in advance. Lots of love and kisses
