Story

So there are 6 of us (I must like having babies!)!! Amie, Mark, Zachary, Caleb, Eadie and Ellis!  When I had Zachary 6 weeks early I was not prepared for it at all and did not expect to see my tiny baby in special care.  But when it happened the second time with Caleb being born 8 weeks early, I think I was even more shocked and in disbelief that it had happened again.  There were less warning signs that Caleb was on his way and was born very quickly, so there was no time for steroids to take effect and help develop his lungs.  So he needed more help in special care on a ventilator and had a 4 week stay.  We were fortunate enough to have received amazing care at Tunbridge Wells hospital from the amazing nurses and doctors.  Despite knowing your babies are receiving incredible care it is still a considerably worrying time  as parents, experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions and seeing your tiny fragile babies in incubators with wires and tubes.  It is thanks to the amazing work of Bliss that give the babies the best possible start in life as well as the parental support the provide during this time and beyond.  So we want to say a big thank you for the work they do and give something back by supporting them to raise the essential funds to keep their amazing work going. Starting next week we will all be completing a variety of superhero missions, some physical, some creative, some showing kindness and nature missions. We have already planned an obstacle course in our garden, making superhero pictures, writing a letter to a baby in special care, making super hero energy bars and much more! Mummy might even do her circuit dressed as a superhero! We really appreciate every single donation, big or small. Thank you so much.

Premature and sick babies need our help now more than ever.COVID-19 hasn't stopped babies being born premature or sick. But with access to units restricted, it has stopped their parents being able to be by their side. At what is already a particularly anxious time, parents aren't able to talk to other families on the unit to share what they're going through and to know they're not alone . By sponsoring us, you'll help raise money so that Bliss can continue responding as needed, providing information and support so that all babies born premature and sick get the best chance of survival and quality of life no matter where they are in the UK.

Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. We rely on donations to fund our work but with one baby admitted to neonatal care every five minutes we don’t have the resources to reach every baby who needs us. Your donation can help Bliss ensure every baby gets the best care.
