Story
I have taken part in this event for the last 2 years and have challenged myself to complete it in a better time than the previous year. The first time I ran it in 2017 I completed it in a time of 1hr 22 mins. In 2018 my time was 1hr 10 mins. So my goal this year is to break the 1hr barrier.
But enough about me, here's the blurb about the charity I work for............
Disability Initiative is a specialist charity based in the South East Region. We support approximately 100 disabled adults and their informal carers. All of our clients have a physical disability or an acquired brain injury. DI provides a range of activities and programmes from its purpose-built Resource Centres in Camberley, Surrey and Fleet, Hampshire. We aim to support our clients to live life to the full and to enable them to achieve their goals, no matter how large or small. We aspire to offer a variety of opportunities to our clients through, exercise and well-being, independent living, and arts & crafts programmes to reduce isolation, increase social inclusion and improve general well-being.Without fund raising, we wouldn't be able to continue to offer these life changing opportunities to our existing and future clients.Disability doesn't discriminate, it can happen to any one of us at any time!
