We provide hospice care and support to people in Swindon and north Wiltshire

Story

What happens when you take four friends who haven’t so much as gone on a leisurely stroll together, and stick them hiking in the Sahara Desert for a week?

Next year we are going to find out! We will switch our usual weekend at the pub for a week of hiking the Sahara, without so much as a literal watering hole, let alone a figurative one.

We’ve been reassured that the scorpions and snakes will be more scared of us than we are of them… and hoping that the camels will protect us at our time of need.

Have you gone absolutely mad, you might ask? Potentially, yes. But this is all in aid of Prospect Hospice, to help support the incredible work they do in providing end-of-life care.

You can read a little bit more about the challenge here:

And more about Prospect Hospice and what they do here:

As a group, we will be completing a year of fundraising- stay tuned for marathon attempts (and hopefully successes), physical challenges that will rival the actual hiking of the Sahara itself, and I’m sure a few weird and wonderful things thrown in along the way.

A deposit has already been paid towards the trip by myself, so the funds from this will be about directly helping Prospect Hospice.

I can appreciate it has been a challenging couple of years for everyone, and money can be tight. Anything that can be spared would be really appreciated, to enable those at Prospect Hospice to continue to provide support to those who need it most.
