Story
Hi all! Well, it's been a very long and tough three years but it's almost over- in October I (Andrea) will be finished with my nursing degree and signed off as a qualified nurse!
If you know either or both of us, you probably know that I've had to overcome some massive hurdles during the course as a disabled student dealing with long-term mental health difficulties. There have been several times during the course when I wasn't sure I'd make it through, but thanks to the support of my husband Richard, my university and my family and friends both online and offline, I've made it to the end.
In celebration, Richard and I are doing a sponsored 10K (night-time!) walk for St Luke's Hospice in Sheffield on Saturday 8 October. This is a cause close to my heart as I have cared for many terminally ill and dying patients during my clinical placements as a student nurse and I know how important it is to get care right at the end of life. St Luke's and hospices and palliative care units like it provide holistic care to these patients, helping them to live to the full to the very end of their lives. I would really love it if you would donate in celebration of my upcoming graduation!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to St Luke's. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you!
