PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, in 2018 over 1800 young people took their own lives. I've never taken on a charity challenge before, but after my son's friend Greg took his own life at the age of 19 in December 2018, I just couldn't stand by, I had to get involved in raising awareness of young suicides.

Papyrus helped Janet & Simon Greg's parents and family after the days and weeks that followed in December 2018, and I'd like to help them in any way to remember that Greg will NEVER be forgotten and is always in our conversations and thoughts.

So, I'm going to be riding across Britain on my bike along with my great friend Jo, it's 980 miles,  it all starts at Land's End on the 4th September 2021 and it will take 9 days, that's between 104 and 116 miles a day! Finishing at John O'Groats on the 12th September 2021. Jo and I have been training for over a year and can safely say that we are going to do this. When it gets really tough, which it will, Greg will be with us pushing us on and I'm sure urging us to get a winning time!
