Event: LOROS Winter Walk, on 27 December 2019
In memory of Elaine Hughes
Join us for a five mile, family-friendly stroll from Houghton on the Hill to Thurnby and back. Start between 9 and 10am from the village halls of either Thurnby or Houghton on the Hill. The route will be signed on field paths between the villages.

Story

As a family this will be our 15th year walking. We started the year my step mum Elaine passed away. During those years LOROS have been a part of so many family, friends and colleagues lives offering help, support and comfort. Most recently my Uncle and family who are travelling their own journey with Cancer. We are pleased to be able to help in any small way we can to allow LOROS to continue their amazing work.

At LOROS we strive to deliver high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers. This community event is hoping to raise over £8,000 in order to support the hospice. The funds will help us to run our 31-bed inpatient ward and facilitate our nurse led Day Therapy Unit. Now in its 40th year, this walk is the longest continual event raising funds for LOROS and is always on December 27th (unless this happens to fall on a Sunday, when it will be on the 28th).All sponsored walkers will receive a commemorative badge. Please support our dedicated volunteer walkers?
