UK ranked table tennis player from beginner within 3 years · 1 August 2015

NASS is only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting people with axial spondyloarthritis (AS), a painful, progressive rheumatic disease which mainly affects the spine. An estimated 200,000 people live with AS in the UK. Our 90+ branches across the UK offer regular exercise to anyone with AS.

Story

I've been suffering from ankylosing spondylitis since I was 19. I'm now 54. My AS level has varied from being relatively low as it is at present, to situations whereby getting out of bed had to be pre-planned.
As with many conditions, fitness is everything; the stronger your body and less weight my body is having to carry around, the lower the pain level and frequency of AS flare-ups.
I started playing table tennis as a beginner in March 2015 in order to increased my fitness rather than running which is impossible with AS or even boring walking!
Now I want to challenge myself to achieve a UK table tennis ranking within 3 years of commencing playing, so by 20th March 2018.
It seemed the perfect opportunity to raise money for NASS.
I realise having read many people's stories on Facebook re their level of AS, I am extremely lucky.
So I'm seeking a minimum of 50,000 people to sponsor me £2 each.
I will do my utmost to achieve my goal.
