Sands is the charity speaking up about pregnancy and baby loss, saving babies’ lives and supporting bereaved families. Together, we are saving babies’ lives and improving maternity safety and bereavement care through research, training and campaigning.

Story

I am supporting and raising money for the charity Sands as last year, close friends of mine, Iain and Caroline, sadly gave birth to a stillborn Daughter, Evie.

They were lucky enough to be able to stay in one of Guys Hospitals 'Sands Suites' (2 bespoke rooms away from the main ward) to allow them to receive the care and support they needed. Not all hospitals have this facility, and these are only available from the generous donations made to the charity. They found this support of great comfort and we hope to contribute to ensure others who go through this terrible experience to have the same level of support and specialist care.

With that in mind, Iain, Adam, Rich, David and I are taking on the challenge of swimming 10k (6.2miles), often known as a 'swimming marathon' with the hope of raising both much needed funds but also awareness and support for this great charity. please take a few minutes to give what you can, its all greatly apprieciated.
