Story

My mum when  i was younger had a good friend  who was diagnosed with MS . Mum provided emotional and physical support to her friend and together with her husband ,accompanied Val on many holidays .These holidays involved quite a lot of wheel chair pushing to go out for shopping trips, lunch dates and of course being spain a spot of sun bathing . When at home Mum used to help clean  at home. She accompanied her friend on lots of fundraising events cake stalls car boots etc. It was sad when her friends son also was diagnosed and tragically lost his life . it Mum now being in her 90s is unable to be involved and I know she misses the fundraising and being helpful so having seen an opportunity to run the marathon for MS I reached out for a place . I am both pleased and honoured to be given this opportunity and I hope my friends and colleagues will support me . I have no doubt this will be a challenge  but it will be worth it for this great cause. I run this race for all those who can’t and for my mum who has always been supportive in some of the most troubling of times .

MS-UK is a national charity dedicating to empowering people affected by multiple sclerosis to live happier and healthier lives. We are here for the 130,000 people that have MS, their family and carers. We work to improve the understanding of MS and provide support where it is needed most. Our services include our helpline providing information and emotional support, a national telephone counselling service and a bi-monthly magazine called New Pathways. Everything we do supports people to manage this incurable condition and increase their health and wellbeing.Every donation counts!£50 could pay for a telephone counselling session for someone struggling with their mental health, £200 is the cost of 10 complementary subscriptions to our New Pathways magazine for those who cannot afford it. £2,520 would help us support people through our national MS-UK helpline and web chat for a whole week. Any donation you can make, big or small, will help us sustain our all-important services.

Thankyou in anticipation for your support .
