THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED BOTH ONLINE AND OFFLINE. WE DID REALLY WELL. IT'S NOT ALL IN BUT WE RAISED ABOUT £700. WELL DONE! AND THANKS.
I DID IT IN 3:59 ACCORDING TO OFFICIAL FIGURES. SO JUST CAME UNDER THE 4 HOUR MARK AND ACHIEVED MY B GOAL. IT WAS HARD FROM AROUND MILE 16 WITH A LOT OF CALF PAIN. BUT IT WAS A GREAT ATMOSPHERE AND I DID ENJOY IT. JUST SO NICE TO SEE THIS THING BACK ON AND THINGS GETTING BACK TO SOMETHING LIKE NORMAL! MUCH LOVE. X
My brother James and I talked about doing something like a run in memory of our late father, Steve. When James said he'd entered the London Marathon at Christmas, that was it, I knew I had to as well!
I've run the Manchester Marathon twice and a marathon distance at the end of an Ironman but I knew if I was going to do London I'd have to go all in and give it my best.
Anyway, I got in through the ballot and James didn't! So for a while it looked like I was going to be doing it on my own and then James got a sponsored place with Children With Cancer UK, so that was a relief. But James needs to raise a lot of money so if you can please donate to him at https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/JamesLittlewood5
My charity is St Ann's Hospice which is a charity which cares for thousands of local people with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses every year. It was a charity close to my late father's heart and one that he had done a number of fund raising events for not long before his death with his beloved Heaton Moor Golf Club.
And in case you're wondering... my previous PB was 3:58. But that was 8 years ago! Can I match it or even beat it...?!
