Story

So - I am running the 2022 London marathon!!! I’m pretty nervous to be fair as I’ve never ran an actual marathon before... I’ve gone further but at a much much slower pace!

There was only one charity that I wanted to run for and that was the Asthma and Lung U.K. Charity. My dad sadly died due to a lung condition - so to donate funds to help raise awareness of lung disease and hopefully help find cures is something I’m really very proud to do.

My dad, David Williams, was always very fit and active even into his early 80's!  He died at the age of 85 yrs old of pulmonary fibrosis (lung disease).  There is no cure.

When Dad was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis I didn't know anything about this disease. I naively thought he would pull through, as he had always done. Sadly I was mistaken, pulmonary fibrosis is terminal.

1 in 5 of us will have a lung condition during our lifetime. There's a new diagnosis every minute. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

Thanks,

Andy
