Story

** Thank you to all those who have generously donated.  For those who would like to attend Andrew's funeral, this will be held on 24th November in York.  Details are being finalised but I wanted to give people as much notice of the date as possible.  There will be a service at York Minster, followed by a get together at the Merchant Adventurers Hall.  Close family and friends will then travel onto the crematorium.  I think details will be shared on his Facebook site, so please help spread the details with your contacts who may not see this. **

We sadly lost the best bloke around on Sunday 6th November.  Andrew was diagnosed with colon cancer in September, which had unfortunately spread to his liver, and the prognosis was bleak for Andrew from that point.  Hermine Van Zuijlen, the wonderful Macmillan Cancer Support nurse helped him to come to terms with his diagnosis and provided a great support and comfort to both Andrew and Helen.  Andrew's family have asked that rather than send flowers, you make a donation to Macmillan so they can continue to offer this service to others who have to face this journey.

Andrew was just the best, and the world without him in it is a little bit darker.  His passion for life was infectious and he gained so many friends with his warmth, humour, wit and intelligence.

With love,

Rachael (Andrew's sister)
