Story
In memory of my Dad, Eamonn, who sadly passed away suddenly and unexpectedly i will be running the Wigan 10K on Sunday 4th September 2016.
On the 28th January we made the shocking discovery that my Dad had died with no warning. He had been suffering from what he thought was indigestion but in reality this was a blood clot in his coronary artery limiting the blood flow to his heart and ultimately leading to his heart failing.
The British Heart Foundation are a charity who, over the last 100 years, have improved the prognosis of people with heart conditions and educated people about the warning signs. Sadly my dad did not realise the indigestion could have been a sign of heart trouble otherwise he may still be here. Every 3 minutes, someone in the Uk is struck by a heart attack and 30% of heart attacks are fatal.
My Dad was one of the kindest most generous men you could ever hope to meet and it is bringing a tear to my eye just writing this - so i imagine on the day I'll be an emotional wreck! If you can possibly spare some money then i would be extremely grateful. If you want to cheer me on, feel free to come down and watch - Debbie will make you sausage butties and you can sit in our front garden!
