The problem of street homelessness is a very real one My daily commute along Bankside means that I meet many people who for one reason or another are forced to sleep on the street. Dave is one of them. His story is a familiar one. A number of things go wrong at the same time, a perfect storm that creates imperfect effects. He became one of the many street homeless in the area with all that that means. His physical as well as his mental health suffer. As a priest walking along that street I wonder what on earth I can do for him and for everyone else. It seems impossible. But the one thing I can do, and do do, is to sleep out every year to support the Robes Project so that they can help people like Dave to escape the street and get back into a more normal life.
Please support me and the others who are sleeping out so that we can support our sisters and brothers who need it.
