Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance is Scotland’s only charity-funded air ambulance service. We rely on public support to keep flying and responding to time-critical emergencies wherever they occur in Scotland. No one in Scotland should die because help can't get there in time.

Story

I'm one of 10 East of Scotland Universities Air Squadron members who will be abseiling off of the Forth Rail Bridge on October 8th to raise money for Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA)!

SCAA operates two rescue helicopters and two rapid response vehicles, taking life-saving pre-hospital care to the scene of time-critical emergencies. SCAA then transports patients to hospitals all over Scotland to receive medical care.

SCAA can be airborne within five minutes of receiving an emergency call and can reach 90% of Scotland’s population within 25 minutes. SCAA covers a total area of more than 30,000 square miles.

This charity is crucial to Scotland, providing emergency response care and transport to Scotland’s most remote and rural areas, from broken limbs on hillsides, to serious RTA's and time critical emergencies.

We’re hoping to fundraise as much as possible, as SCAA receives no statutory government funding. SCAA flights cost an £2500 pounds on average - if we can hit that target, we will have funded an entire flight!

We're deeply grateful for every donation, large or small. Thank you very much!
