Story

Hi Thanks for visiting my JustGiving Page.

I am running in this year's Bupa Great North Run and am hoping to raise some money for the Guide Dogs in the process.  Why am I running the Great North Run - well I was sick of sitting and saying, it would be great to do things like the GNR so I decided to go for it as a personal challenge, and if as a bonus I can raise some money for a great cause, then so much the better.

Why the Guide Dogs?  When my Dad passed away six years ago we collected donations for the Guide Dogs in remembrance of my Dad's love of the types of dogs synonymous with the Guide Dogs - Golden Labradors and Retrievers.  In continuation of this donations I have decided to collect money for the Guide Dogs in remembrance of my late Father, Paul Westgarth.

Any sponsorship is gratefully received, I am in training currently and am looking forward to running the Great North Run this year, being able to say I completed it, and hopefully be able to raise some funds for the Guide Dogs

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Guide Dogs gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

UPDATE:  I completed the Great North Run in 2:15:10 and am very pleased to have done this :)  I am still collecting donations and thanks for all those who have sponsored me and helped to raise a great total for Guide Dogs for the Blind!

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
