Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you may be aware I've challenged myself several times
over the last few years with various sporting events, since getting fit and
active.
But as I've not done anything for charity since Ironman Wales
in 2015. So this year as I turn the BIG 40 I thought it was only right to make it a year to remember.
I've always said I'd never run a marathon, as long runs are
not something I overly enjoy, but THE London Marathon is iconic!! Fortunately,
I have been chosen by a wonderful local charity, The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Gobowen) to run in next years Virgin London Marathon 2018.
I've never ran a marathon before so to add to this
challenge, I'm aiming to run it in under 4 hours. This is going to be a huge effort from me, not only on race day but from now and the months leading up to the big day! Early morning runs in the rain and cold throughout the winter will be the hardest part. Spare a thought for me on a Saturday night whilst enjoying a few beers or a bottle of wine, I'll be sober ready for a long run on a Sunday morning, anyone is welcome to join me!
All funds raised will be donated to Hospital RJAH. All
donations will go towards the hospital and to help fund research, new
treatments, providing state of the art facilities as well as extra comfort for all patients. Any donation, small or large would be greatly appreciated and would massively help give me that extra motivation to train throughout the gloomy winter months!
And then later in the year, just for FUN I'll be taking on
the Outlaw triathlon (Ironman but different brand) with maybe a few other half marathons and triathlons in-between in the name of training!
Thank you for your support,
Andy
