My brother-in-law, Andy Leonard, died suddenly and unexpectedly on August 12th.  He was stubborn and infuriating, caring and loving, determined and passionate (about things he cared about, and I don't just mean beer and curry!).  I have known him for 20 years and grew to love and respect him.  It hurts every time I remember that I am never going to see him again, and I know that all the rest of his extended family and his friends will feel the same.

Andy wasn't really a 'flower' person, so we have suggested that friends might like to make a donation to one of his favourite charities. There's this one, supporting people with arrhythmia, the abnormal electrical behaviour of the heart which can cause spontaneous cardiac arrest, as happened to Andy; and two other sites, for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Cancer Research respectively.

We all know how keen Andy was on avoiding tax wherever legally possible, so don't forget to Gift Aid.
