Story

I am running the London Marathon to fundraise for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. This is the year that my daughter will hopefully ring the end of treatment bell as she finishes her current course of chemotherapy in September.

You all know how our story has started but probably don't know how it's been going along the way and how close we are to finishing the next step.

PixieBelle was diagnosed at age 5 with a brain tumour in June 2018 and this has caused loss of sight in one of her eyes.

Chemotherapy is the preferred way to treat and she has been doing this for 3 years now.

Along the way she has had 4 brain surgeries and countless stays in hospital. Life really got put on hold for her and us through this last 3 years.

She has lost and regrown her hair twice and then lost it again recently. As an 8 year girl with no hair, she has found it difficult but has the full support of a super mum and brother along with me.

I'm running the London Marathon to raise money for the hospital where she is receiving her treatment so they can treat their many patients to some good pick me ups and continue to help towards the life saving treatment they provide for our young people.

The marathon is 3rd October and her finish date for chemo is 21st September. What a way to celebrate the end of treatment.

We will then hopefully be ringing the End of Treatment bell.

The fundraising total is a modest £2000. I know we've fundraised before but this hospital needs more help.

Coronavirus has impacted charities and seen a drop in fundraising activities so we really want to be able to help in any way we can.
