Story
We as friends and family are running/walking/cycling in memory of Julian Turner. He was my uncle who recently lost his battle with bowel cancer. Julian was loved by many and will leave a huge gap in all of our lives.
For my part I plan to, throughout the month of September run a combined total of 30 miles along with my Police Dog; PD Hooch. Hooch doesn’t know about this yet but I’m sure he’s up for the challenge!!! To make it extra challenging I will run in full Police kit which adds an extra 15kgs!
One of my last memories with Uncle Julian was when he told me how proud he was of me in what I had achieved in my work - quickly followed up with “If I drive through your area tell you’re mates not to stop me for speeding, I can’t afford anymore points!!!” He was always a joker but I always admired how he took time for me and genuinely interested in how I was doing.
So I’ll be thinking of him and his humour as I rack up the 30 miles over this month. Please give as much or as little as you can for a great cause and a great man who unfortunately lost his battle to cancer.
You’ll always be in my memory Uncle Ju.
