Story

Story written by Debbie -

Training for my 2022 challenge has commenced.
On 11th July I will be attempting to swim Lake Windermere which is 21 miles (both ways) which I anticipate will take approximately 14 hours.
My chosen charity is Wolverhampton Intensive Care Unit. This fabulous ward is responsible for treating a very dear friend. In March 2020 Angie caught covid and became seriously ill. She was then diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and endured 12 months of intensive treatment.
As if this wasn’t enough Angie was then dealt a second bout of covid! She spent Christmas and the beginning of 2022 in Wolverhampton Intensive Care extremely poorly. She was put into an induced coma. Over the next few weeks Angie fought for her life.
This swimming challenge is to say a massive well done to Angie for putting up an amazing fight and a special thank you to the wonderful team at Wolverhampton intensive care unit for all the care given to Angie.
Please support me. Every little help with motivation and the money raised will go to a really good cause.
Thank you
