Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Anyone that knows me will know I’m not a natural athlete! (unlike my husband)
I took up running about four years ago with my sister in law as a way to keep my weight down when I stopped smoking.
When I started it was literally lamppost to lamppost, I gradually got better and could run three miles without stopping. A huge achievement for me.
I entered a few 10k races which I enjoyed but I felt I’d hit a wall and wasn’t improving, Mark decided it’d be a good idea if we joined a running club and after a bit of research he chose LWAC. What a fabulous choice, not only have I made new friends for life I’m also going to be facing this challenge with a few of them, one of whom (Jane Ramsden) is also running for this amazing charity. Last year I ran my first Half Marathon in Lincoln and have since ran The Big Half in London and most recently the GNR, natural progression means it’s now time to try the full 26.2.
With no luck through the ballot we decided we’d run for a charity and Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance is a charity that any of us could be in the unfortunate position of needing. Living in rural Lincolnshire they provide a vital service to many.
Who’d of thought the 20 a day and no exercise girl would be running a Marathon. Thanks to all my running and bootcamp friends (and Mark) for getting me where I am today.
