We support people to help rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

On December 10th 2012 I woke up unable to get out of bed, unable to speak, it was petrifying. I had had a stroke. Strokes can happen to anybody at anytime with no warning.

Thankfully I am recovering well and feel so lucky to still be here. I wanted to become a stroke ambassador for the Stroke Association and share my story with others. Spreading awareness of stroke is vital.

Stroke Association also do amazing life changing work with stroke survivors as they believe in life after stroke. From my experience there definitely is a life after stroke.

But sadly, others aren't as fortunate as myself. I wanted to run the Cardiff half marathon in honour of these people who have sadly lost their lives due to a stroke.

Stroke research and stroke services are horribly underfunded compared to other life threatening diseases/conditions such as cancer and heart disease, so any money that you are able to donate would be such a great help.

I wouldn't be where I am today without Stroke Association and therefore want to give something back...

.... I'm a terrible runner but I'm willing to try for this great cause.
