Story
UPDATE: I completed the race! In a time of 1:47:55; finishing in 398th place out of 1,389 runners (34th lady out of 427). I was cheered on by sister, dad, old housemate, former maths tutor, and a long lost school friend. It was FUN and I can't wait to do it again (perhaps on a flatter course next time, without an 18mph head wind). Legs are stiff and aching but still functioning well enough to pedal me to and from work.
THANK YOU SO MUCH all of you for your support. It is hugely appreciated, and I've been very touched by your generosity and kind messages. LSF Children's Project is hoping to use the funds to run a cookery/healthy eating course for disadvantaged young people next year.

As a child born and raised at Lower Shaw Farm, and having recently left that little oasis for the big smoke, I have a huge appreciation for what the Farm can offer to children, young people, and their families, and I want to help it offer even more!
On a separate note, I also seem to have become quite a glutton for punishment in recent months, and have somewhat rashly decided to run a half marathon. Keeping my fingers crossed that blisters and shin splints will stay away!
So, combining both the above, I thought I'd try and raise some money for the Children's Project by seeking your sponsorship. Please give generously!
Thank you
