Hello and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having grown up as an only child of academic parents, who encouraged me to play musical instruments and work hard in school (in other words a serious couch potato!), I have discovered the joys of mountainbiking and running only about 5 years ago. And finally I have found the courage to enter an organised event - as opposed to slinking around the back roads hoping no-one would observe my sweaty efforts.
This gives me the perfect opportunity to enjoy a personal challenge, make more people aware of the work Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland does and raise some money for a good cause. I have started working for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland at the beginning of July this year and am very excited to manage a new project for the Highlands supporting people suffering from Heart Failure.
I currently try to run at least 15 miles a week, but I am certainly not very fast and find running more than 3 miles at a time quite difficult (the more observant of you will have noticed already that I have chosen the shorter run of the event). Please visit my site every week for progress updates of my training and cross your fingers for me to help my joints get through this!
