Royal Parks Half Marathon 2023 · 8 October 2023 ·

Our fantastic Royal Parks Half Marathon team are taking on the stunning 13.1 miles to improve diagnosis and treatment, and to fund research to find a cure; to raise awareness and to give people hope, comfort and confidence to live freer, fuller lives

Story

Those of you who know me well will know I'm not a runner. I spent most of my school days avoiding cross country and dodging compulsory sport. I have Covid-19 to thank for my discovery of 'couch to 5k' and was deluded into thinking I was a 'runner'. Three years on I've made little progress and have only just managed to tackle 10k, so I've got a long way to go before the half marathon in October.

I have chosen to raise money for Crohn's & Colitis as both my grandad Ray and my youngest brother Dom, have, and do suffer from ulcerative colitis. An autoimmune disease carefully managed through diet (no alcohol 😯) which can have aggressive and complex flare-ups. Any support in raising money and awareness for Crohn's & Colitis UK would be greatly appreciated, skip a drink at the pub and give what you can to improve diagnosis and treatment.

Crohn's & Colitis UK are the UK's leading charity for Crohn's and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. I am taking part in the 2023 Royal Parks Half Marathon to support Crohn's & Colitis UK, and your donation can help Crohn's & Colitis UK's mission to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and raise awareness.
