When I was about 16 years old I enjoyed an activity week at a camp in the country. Amongst other things we climbed, walked, canoed, orienteered, got wet, got dry, got muddy, got clean, laughed alot and bonded like you wouldn't believe. Looking back it made a remarkable impact on my life. It showed me that there was more to life than what I had previously experienced. I learned many new life skills and I still have the note I was given at the end from the course leader. I treasure the memory as much as I treasure the note. It made a huge difference to me and I was fit and well.

On Friday, August 26th I climbed Ben Nevis, followed by
Scafell Pike on Saturday and then Snowdon on day three to raise funds for OVER THE WALL CHARITY.

This wonderful charity provides activity camps for children and young people affected by serious illnesses. These young people frequently lack confidence as a result of prolonged and isolating treatment. At camp they experience a fun and positive environment where they can act their age without worrying about their illnesses. In the presence of others facing similar challenges, any feelings of isolation are overcome, confidence grows and friendships are made. Their website is: http://www.otw.org.uk/
