I CAN is a new campaign to improve the support available to people with mental health problems in North Wales.

Story

Not every illness is visible. 1 in 4 adults experience mental health problems or illness at some point during their lifetime Theres been a steep rise in the number of young people in North Wales who self-harm 9 out of 10 people with mental health problems experience stigma and discrimination Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50 in North Wales The numbers say it all. Mental health problems have the potential to affect each and every one of us, and their impact - as well as the associated stigma - can be devastating. I CAN is being led by a coalition of people who are committed to bettering the range of community support services available while helping to tackle stigma and encourage open conversations about mental health. People who are Independent, Contributing, Active and Networked enjoy better mental health and wellbeing. They have more resilience, enabling them to face lifes challenges and say I CAN.
