Story
Hello.
I am Archie, I am 9 and I love swimming. 4 years ago I was scared of even putting my face in the water. Now I am doing the Rookie Lifeguard Gold award and I swim for my local club!
Swimming didn't come easily for me. I wanted to give up my lessons so many times, but Mummy said "come on you can do it, don't give up!" and now I am glad she did!
When I saw the Aspire Channel Swim 2019 challenge, I really wanted to do it. Swimming changed my life, I was shy before, but now I am more confident and I believe in myself more so it has really helped me.
So I am swimming the distance of the English Channel (22 miles or 1416 lengths of my local pool), to raise money for Aspire. Hopefully I can raise lots of money to help change someone else's life too!
Every four hours someone is paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury and Aspire provides the essential equipment, advice and housing that spinal cord injured people need to live their lives independently. This is a big challenge, but the more I raise, the more of a difference I'll make, so please be generous!
Thank you!
Love Archie x
