All children need to play, but for disabled children it is essential to help them reach their full potential. Challengers provides numerous play schemes for disabled children from across the South East. However, there are hundreds of children missing out every day and your gift can help them play.

Story

There is one day, May 14th 2011, when pedestrians can walk through the newly built Hindhead Tunnel, the longest road tunnel in the UK, before it opens for traffic.

On that day, Arianne, our 9 year old daughter, is going to attempt to walk the 1.8km through the tunnel in aid of Disability Challengers.  We have decided to give it a go despite the fact that Arianne has recently stopped walking independently (she will only walk holding hands and unsteadily at that) in order to raise much needed money for Disability Challengers.

Disability Challengers is an independent charity which provides stimulating play and care for disabled children from dedicated centres.  This is not only wonderful for the children but gives the parents or carers desperately needed respite.

Arianne has a clinical diagnosis of Angelman Syndrome.  She does not talk and needs 24 hour care but she is exceedingly loving and adores people and attention.

If you are able to sponsor Arianne in this attempt to raise money it is greatly appreciated.
