Story

Volunteers from Cats Protection's Armagh Branch have taken up the challenge to walk at least 2.6
miles per day each, with the aim of completing a ‘social distance’ marathon of 26 miles in the shortest time possible!  There will be 2 approaches: 1. A virtual team relay to complete the 26 miles target;  and 2. Individual volunteer(s) challenge themselves to complete the 26 mile target.  Mileage will be recorded via steps counters, and will include laps in and around our  homes and gardens as well as the daily permitted outside exercise time.  Results will be published after  Sunday, 3 May 2020.

Save the UK's Charities General fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
