We give people in need a place to stay to help them get back on their feet.

Story

On 12 July 2012 I ran the Standard Chartered 5k Great City Run as part of the ICAEW team. We are raising money for Shelter from the Storm, our staff charity of the year, who run London's only free homeless shelter. The other team members are Andrew Gambier, Richard Steele, Claire Perry-Stevens, Kirstina Reitan, Martin Amos, Harry McAdoo, Michael Izza and Graham Dale.

Although I have played football for over 12 years, this was only my second 5k race. Despite very wet weather I enjoyed the race and finished within my target time of 30 minutes. Well, officially it was 30:04, but due to the weather conditions and warnings of a very slippery first corner we got off to a very slow start.
