Andrew and I are climbing Africa’s highest mountain and one of the world’s most iconic peaks, Mount Kilimanjaro. We begin our climb on 20th December via the Lemosho route and hope to reach the summit on Christmas Day. 

The summit, Uhuru Peak stands at a massive 5,895m/19,341 ft - a huge challenge for an amazing cause!

28 years ago, Andrew's wonderful mother, Elisabeth lost her hearing almost overnight. This obviously had a huge impact on her life, but it also meant she could no longer continue her career as an extremely talented Opera Singer. To make things harder, Elisabeth still does not have an official diagnosis.

We want to raise money to help Action on Hearing Loss fund research and offer care to people who suffer from hearing loss, an extremely isolating disability. Their life-changing research is paid for by donations - there is no government funding. Here's how our donations can help...

£11.88 could cover the cost of two calls to our Information Line, helping people to access help and practical support so they can regain confidence.

£50 could help pay for a Hear to Meet befriending session where people with hearing loss can meet others in the same situation.

£100 could pay for a day’s research into treatments and cures, bringing the joys of sound back to thousands of people

£500 could be used to pay for computer equipment to help children who use cochlear implants to hear the world around them better.
