Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have seen first-hand the harm that diabetes can actually do. My father sadly passed away in 2016. He had Type 2 diabetes and suffered from diabetes-related complications before he died. He is sorely missed. I don't want other people to suffer from the many preventable quality of life issues linked to Diabetes and this is why I am taking on this challenge.
I am riding from London to Surrey on 4 August 2019. I am raising funds for Diabetes UK, which is the largest charity in the UK for Diabetes research. Diabetes UK wants to see a world in which the disease does
no harm.
Diabetes affects more people than any other serious health
condition in the UK. More than dementia and cancer combined. That means we need to take action now. Please join me and give generously.
Diabetes UK will use your donation to:
- Provide care and support to people with diabetes and their
families- eg through their online forums, helpline and local support groups
- Campaign to increase awareness about diabetes
- Further their prevention work, educating people about Type 2
diabetes
- Assist communities at high risk of diabetes, such as certain
minority ethnic communities
- Work with healthcare professionals to share knowledge
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So, it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
