The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Guide Dogs are appealing for help kitting out the Atherton Centre. We don’t need you to lay bricks, drill post holes or man the cement mixer – we’d like you to help us kit out the school by raising funds or making a donation! However large or small the amount, it will make a real difference to the care and training of guide dogs by helping us buy what we need to create a world-class facility.

Please visit the Guide Dogs website for information on what your donation would go towards.

The new purpose-built school replaces the charity’s existing Bolton training facility which has been in operation for nearly 50 years. With its state-of-the-art welfare facilities and outstanding training areas, it will ensure that trainee guide dogs are fully prepared for today’s busy streets and complex towns.

With this new world-class training environment, Guide Dogs will be able to train an increased number of happy, healthy, high-quality guide dogs to provide a life-transforming level of independence and confidence to thousands of blind and partially-sighted people across the .

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Guide Dogs gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25 per cent in Gift Aid, plus a 3 per cent supplement, are added to your donation.

Your support is very important to us and will make a difference to generations of guide dogs trained at our new school.
