Story

In the autumn of 2011 I spent a very sad week at St Mary's Hospice Ulverston where my father-out-law Peter passed away.  St Marys was a truly amazing place and the care and love Peter received in his last few weeks was beyond comparison.  The south of Cumbria is not a wealthy spot and care like this costs thousands a day.

A few years ago I risked life and limb swimming across the largest lake in the UK, thanks to all those who sponsored me. This time it is only my dignity which is at risk.  Men's egos seem pretty attached to their body hair, and it's certainly firmly attached to them. So....

On a Thursday night (19th November) I'll be having everything above my neck shaved (except my eyebrows, which research suggests don't always grow back), and everything below my neck (everything, including armpits) waxed off.  Why Thursday?  Because I'll have to go into work the next day. Why that Thursday?  I've a family gathering that weekend.  This makes it all the more challenging.

If you sponsor me over £25 I'll email you a link to the live stream of the event.  You'll get to watch my face (and hopefully only my face) through the whole event.  No remix rights included, this is a one off personal show.

If you sponsor me over £50 you can have your company name or twitter handle marker penned onto me before hand, so it is unveiled as the strip is torn off.  The more you sponsor, the more tender or hairy the spot you can ask for (within reason).
