Myself and several other directors will be completing a Beach Clean Challenge that will see us litter pick 7 beaches across 2 days along the Durham coastal footpath.

In total, the team will walk over 11 miles and aim to collect at least 100 bin bags worth of rubbish which is almost as big as a concrete mixer truck and enough to to fill around 50 bathtubs!

The beaches we will be visiting are: Seaham Hall, Red Acre, Blast, Easington Colliery, Horden, Blackhall and Crimdon.

I am raising money for the Samaritans. They give people ways to cope and the skills to be there for others. They encourage, promote and celebrate those moments of connection between people that can save lives. They offer listening and support to people and communities in times of need. In prisons, schools, hospitals and on the rail network, Samaritans are working with people who are going through a difficult time and training others to do the same. Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy, and Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide.
