Gabriel, Evie and I have decided to try and raise a few £ for the British hen welfare trust and take part in their chuck choc for chooks appeal.  We will be giving up chocolate and sweets for 46 days starting on shrove Tuesday in order to try and raise money and awareness for this cool charity.  We have rescued hens from slaughter through the British hen welfare trust and know What happy additions to the family they can become if Just given a chance.  Life for commercial hens is short and very cruel with over crowding and little or no access to a natural environment.  When our girls came to live with us they were in a terrible state with hardly any feathers and so scared they just huddled in a corner together ( pictured above)  they now provide us with yummy eggs every day, have regrown their feathers and enjoy interaction with humans.  

All money raised will be used to help save other hens from being sent to slaughter after only 72 weeks of life.  I hope you can help us meet our £100 target.
