We help the hospital offer a better future to seriously ill children across the UK

Story

My youngest son Ted had a traumatic injury to his eye in November 2014 at a rugby festival, but ironically not while playing rugby. After a few days his eyesight all but disappeared from the eye due to the injury and a cataract forming.

Within 24/48 hours we had been referred to Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital. Whilst there Ted was looked after brilliantly by the eye specialist doctors and nurses.

A few months later and Ted is now back playing rugby and for him everything is almost back to normal. It is down to the wonderful expertise and care by the Hospital staff that he has been given this second chance.

Now it is time for me to raise some money to help the hospital in return. Funds raised will go towards the Ophthalmology department who looked after Ted so well.

I am riding the Kent Cycling Association 12 hour cycle event on 23rd August 2015. The event format is quite simple - each rider has to cycle as far as they can in 12 hours. I will be aiming to ride more than 200 miles, but I really can't be more accurate than that !

My initial target is £1000, please help me get there.

Thanks
Ben
