Story
Update: As this race Is now cancelled due to Covid, I’ve decided to up my game and run a marathon rather than a half., I’ll be running this on Sunday the 14th June
I’m raising money for the Southampton Hospital Charity, a charity that's close to my heart.
In January last year my daughter was born prematurely and unable swallow.
She was diagnosed with a condition called Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula (TOF) and had emergency surgery when she was less than a day old to repair her Trachea and Oesophagus at Princess Anne Hospital.
TOF is an extremely rare condition, occurring in around 1 in 5000 births. She will continue to be monitored by the specialist team and is likely to face further operations as she gets older.
The specialist team at Southampton Hospital have been amazing with our daughter and offered so much support in dealing with this rare condition.
The team look after all children affected by TOF from across the south of England , I feel incredibly lucky to have them on our doorstep !
I have chosen to raise money specifically for the neonatal Unit and would really appreciate any donations towards my £150 target, your donations will go towards enhancing the care of newborn babies and mothers.
