I will be running the London Marathon on April 28th 2019 in memory of my Grandad, Doug Wallis. I will be looking to complete the marathon in a time of 3 hours 30 minutes or better!!!

After a 5 year battle with a rare form of Parkinson's Doug sadly passed away in December 2017. A consequence of his Parkinson's was that he lost the ability to speak, this was particularly tough to deal with since he was always the life & soul of any conversation. 

The struggle for Doug to communicate in his latter years is my reason for chosing to raise money for Sense Charity. Their research into and support for those with complex communication needs is naturally a cause close to our hearts. 

Grandads love for all things sport was one of his defining traits, no matter the sport be it golf, football or rugby he loved every minute of it. Therefore a sporting challenge of the scale of the London Marathon is the ideal platform to honor him and improve the lives of others fighting the same struggle around the UK.

Any donation big or small is massively appreciated and will make a real to difference to the work that Sense can do to support those in the UK with complex communication needs.
